updates on what's been transitioning and changing with my massage practice
yesterday was the fall equinox - as we ease into shorter days and the slowness of autumn, as the goldenrod blooms vibrant around us and the plants in the garden put out their last sweet fruits, all around us things are transitioning.
and holy moly, has it been a big month of transitions for me. in this post, i'm going to go over what i've had going on throughout the last month, as well as some changes and updates to my policies, hours, and
my thai massage course
as i mentioned in my last email, i traveled to asheville in august for a thai massage course, which was an incredible experience. i’ve been incorporating a lot of the stretches and deep compression i picked up into my table sessions, and have been witnessing the transformative effects that this form of myofascial release can have on clients.
i’ll be taking another thai course in november and i’m so excited to dive deeper into this modality! i’m looking forward to offering full mat sessions sometime in the near future.
i moved!
then, as soon as i got back from asheville, i moved! this move wasn’t expected or planned, so it has been taking up a lot of my time and energy in the past month, and consequently made me a bit difficult to get in touch with. i’ve sincerely appreciated my clients’ patience and understanding as i navigate this major personal transition.
the great news about my move is: i am now even closer to my office space in doylestown!
office hours
i’m excited to now offer in-office sessions all day on sundays and evenings on tuesdays, with more office availability soon to come!
the space is located in the counseling confidence office, which also hosts things like queers 4 queers meetups, autism support groups, meditation, therapy, and more. i would definitely recommend checking them out and seeing what they have to offer! very excited to be sharing space with this group.
mobile massage updates
in addition to my in-office appointments, i’m making a few changes to the mobile part of my practice.
since beginning bodycraft, it has been my goal to make massage therapy accessible to the folks who need it most - most of my clients are disabled in some way, so in-home appointments offer restful care without the added stress of travel. (plus, i get to meet your cats, which is a great added benefit for me.)
in an effort to make my mobile practice more sustainable, i will be implementing a tiered travel fee for all mobile appointments, beginning on october 15th. this will support the additional preparation, travel, setup, and breakdown associated with mobile massage work.
the travel fee breakdown is as follows:
0-10 miles from doylestown (includes chalfont, warrington, jamison, perkasie, buckingham, lansdale, horsham, north wales, richboro, warminster, etc.): $20
10-15 miles from doylestown (includes blue bell, ambler, willow grove, feasterville, newtown, new hope, harleysville, ottsville, etc.): $25
15-30 miles from doylestown (includes philadelphia, norristown, conshohocken, king of prussia, bristol, langhorne, levittown, etc.): $30
my service area for mobile work remains in bucks, montgomery, and philadelphia counties, with appointments outside these areas booked on a case-by-case basis/as available.
here’s a helpful map that illustrates these zones:

if these rates are inaccessible for you, don’t fret - my office rates are staying exactly the same at $120 per hour, so you’re always welcome to come see me there on sundays or tuesdays.
and, as always, i’m passionate about offering sliding scale sessions for folks who can’t otherwise access bodywork services. if that applies to you, reach out and we can chat about how we can make regular massage therapy a part of your self-care routine.
thank you for your support and understanding with this change – i’m excited to continue offering in-home sessions, and this new structure will allow me to do so sustainably.
for mobile clients who are already scheduled: nothing is changing about your existing appointment! you will be billed the same $120 an hour as usual. any future appointments will have a travel fee attached.
for mobile clients without existing appointments: this change is going into effect on october 15th. if you’d like to book one last appointment without an on-site fee, reach out before then to book at my regular hourly rate.
new hours and availability
and finally! my hours are changing! i am now working the following schedule, which will help offer reliability and consistency for both myself and my clients.
sundays: in-office in doylestown 10:00am-8:00pm
tuesdays: mobile in bucks/montgomery counties 1:00pm-5:00pm, in-office in doylestown from 6:00pm-8:00pm
every 1st and 3rd saturday: mobile in philadelphia 10:00am-7:00pm
every 2nd and 4th wednesday: mobile in bucks/montgomery counties 10:00am-7:00pm
i know, that’s a lot of changes! but, tis the season, i suppose. i hope that you’re all having an easeful fall so far. here’s to all the transitions, big and small.
if you feel your body needing some support through these changing times, fill out my booking form to get yourself an appointment.
thanks for reading, and i hope to hear from you soon!
warmly,
