swedish massage
relaxing + resetting
swedish massage is a gentle, relaxing massage using long, flowing strokes over the entire body. it is sometimes referred to as oil massage due to the use of oil or lotion that allows the therapist's hands to glide gracefully over the client's body.

a swedish massage allows clients to sink into the table, leaving the stress of everyday life behind. think that you need deep pressure to feel relief from your pain? think again. gentle swedish massage is effective at relieving pain and tension from injuries, health conditions, and stress.

deep tissue massage
focused + releasing
after warming up and relaxing superficial layers of tissue, slow, sustained pressure allows me to dive deeper into the structures that lie below the surface.

while deep tissue features similar relaxing strokes seen in swedish massage, it is going to use deeper pressure and access deeper layers of tissue, getting to the root of musculoskeletal issues.

myofascial release therapy
unwinding + aligning
fascia is a form of connective tissue that surrounds every structure in your body in a web-like sheath. when fascia becomes constricted, it can inhibit the free movement of muscle fibers, leading to postural issues, limited mobility, and pain.

myofascial release is a modality that specifically focuses on the fascia surrounding the skeletal muscles. in this modality, i use gentle, sustained, stretching pressure that helps to unwind tension held in the fascia.

these techniques also have a strong effect on the nervous system, stimulating receptors that respond to pressure and stretching, thereby helping to relieve pain.

neuromuscular therapy
targeted + transformative
the nervous system and the muscular system are extremely connected, and issues with one can have effects on the other. one such effect is the development of trigger points, which are contracted nodules of muscle responding to sustained nerve impulses.

trigger points in one area of the body can cause referred pain patterns in a completely different one due to their involvement with the nervous system.

trigger point release can feel intense while it is happening, but the relief you feel afterwards makes it worth it.
in trigger point therapy, i will locate trigger points using communication with you and detailed palpation skills. once found, i will use deep, sustained, pin-point pressure to release the trigger point.
